UNICAL: Akpagu reiterates commitment to deepening exchange of knowledge

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu has reiterated his administration's commitment to deepening exchange of knowledge by institutionalizing a culture that encourages the attraction of academic colleagues to the University.

Prof. Akpagu stated this while welcoming the President and Executives of The Nigerian Society for Psycho-Social Research who were in his office to pay him a courtesy visit as part of the Society's itinerary for her annual conference hosted by the University of Calabar.

The Vice Chancellor thanked the Society for giving UNICAL the hosting rights and explained that he views the gesture as a privilege.

Prof. Akpagu expressed his appreciation to the body of educational psychologists, adding that as a registered teacher himself, he finds that area of study very interesting even as he commended the Society's contribution to the body of knowledge, urging them to keep it up.

In an earlier remark, the National President, Nigerian Society for Psycho-Social Research, Prof. Richard O. Nnachi, while expressing the Society's appreciation for the Vice Chancellor's support, saluted and wished the VC and Management of the University the very best.

Prof. Nnachi acknowledged with gratitude the Vice Chancellor's prompt approval when the University of Calabar won the bid to host the Society's annual conference sometime last year.

The National President informed the Vice Chancellor that the Society which started over a decade ago in Abia State University has since grown in leaps and bounds contributing immensely to research and advancement of knowledge in relevant fields of study.

The National President with his Executives was accompanied on the visit by members of the Local Organizing Committee led by its chairman, Prof. Rowland Iheanacho and the Dean, Faculty of Education, Unical, Prof. Chris Chukwuma.
