Khalid Jamil
Nyok|19 December 2018
Mr Khalid 'JamJam Jnr ' Jamil Friday 14th December this year passed on to the great beyond after a protracted illness in Abuja, Nigeria NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
Late Khalid was an Indian whose assimilation into the Nigerian society has been described variously by his friends as 'perfect', commendable and inspiring.
Our correspondent learnt that the late Engineer will be missed by his friends who eulogised him as a great dude who was caring, jovial, warm, friendly, and the like.
Simon Utsu his Nigerian childhood friend has extolled late Khalid in three witty and touchy-feely paragraphs. Excerpt:

'Very gutted to hear about the passing away of my good childhood friend, Khalid 'JamJam Jnr ' Jamil. When I heard whispers of the news about an hour ago, I called his line and his elder sister picked and told me it was true. That Khalid was indeed no more as he passed on on Friday in Abuja after a brief illness.

'Khalid who hails from New Delhi in India, grew up with his family in Calabar where he schooled before moving to Abuja and Northern Nigeria where he successfully executed several Engineering projects as a lead project Engineer. He just lost his Dad early last year. He was a great guy and he integrated perfectly into the Nigerian society.

'He was always interested in my welfare and took out time to ring me often to enquire about my well-being and share new business ideas and suggestions with me. Sometime ago when I informed him that I had gotten a job in an Indian owned company, he was the one who gave me tips on how I could work with his people- their psyche, their way of operating etc. He always kept in touch- sad that I seldom reciprocated. He was also a very jovial person and he never liked bothering others with his issues or challenges —you only got to know if you pried.

'He will be GREATLY missed by so many of us. Rest In Peace bro.'

One Otu Otu Ita concerning Khalid has said thus: 'I am very emotional reading this. Khalid grew up in my neighborhood and was a great guy. He blended and assimilated our culture very well, also makes friends easily. He'll surely be missed by everyone who ever came in contact with him. May his soul rest in peace.'
On Egoh Eyamba's part: 'David Atim you told me a couple of weeks ago to call Khalid as he had complained about not being able to see me during his visits to Calabar. He had always kept in touch without complaining about me not reciprocating his calls.

He truly was a rare person with a heart of gold. Always giving me sound advice et al. May Allah repose his soul and grant him a place in His kingdom. Adieu Khalid!!!'.
Khalid will be greatly misses by his family, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace Jamil.
