C/River: Group urges Buhari to reinstate purportedly suspended Onnoghen


Group of concerned Cross Riverians converging today...

A group of concerned Nigerians today urged Mr Muhammadu Buhari, president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to reinstate the purportedly suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mr Walter Nkanu Samuel Onnoghen.

They did this in Calabar the state capital city in the early hours of Monday as Nigerians of Cross River extraction and residency gathered to registered their displeasure.

While addressing the audience and sending their message to the President of the country they expressed their four point resolutions among which are:







-That Cross River is part and very integral part of Nigeria and hence enjoys the protection of the Nigerian constitution;

-The immediate reinstatement of the CJN with all his rights and privileges as the CJN;

-Apologise to the Nigerian state and in particular Cross River State for the attempted extra-constitutional and extra-judicial removal of the CJN;

-The observance of due process and respect for the Constitution of the FRN in suspending or removing the CJN. 

The group's spoken is Mr Leonard Anyogo a constitutional lawyer and notary public. Cross River Commissioner for New Cities, George Ekpungu Esq., spoke in turn.
