Collect Ayade's money and vote for SDP come 9th March —Eyo Ekpo guber candidate

Nyok|1 March 2019

The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Cross River State, Mr Eyo Ekpo, Thursday, charged Nigeria's electorates resident in and indigenous to Cross River against selling their future come the 9th of March 2019 governorship and State House of Assembly elections should they be tempted by his counterpart in the People's ruling Democratic Party, PDP. However, he encouraged them to collect monies given to them by the PDP and vote for SDP NEGROIDHAVEN has learnt.

Eyo a former Commissioner for Justice in the state who argued that the money that will be given to them (the electorates) is their money noted that when they are given two thousand Naira, they will be stolen from, the sum of two billion naira. He told them that they don't want a government that will bribe them, but, that which will work for them.

His words, 'We know that before that elections comes, Ayade will come and throw money around. That money is your money, when he brings it take it, but don't forget that we will not see him again in four years. What we need is not a governor that will bribe us, but, a government that will work for us. A government that will make sure that we have jobs of our own and we can live and fend for ourselves. I am pleading with you, let us remember our future.

'When a government takes your money and gives you two thousand Naira, he will steal from you two billion Naira. That is what he will do and you will not see him again. Let's remember, we should not take our future and throw it away because of one thousand Naira, or five hundred Naira. Vote for SDP, that is the party that will bring candidates that will work for you.

The legal luminary said this yesterday in Bakassi, Akpabuyo and Calabar South as part of finishing touches of combing the three senatorial districts of the states soliciting for votes come the 9th of March governorship and State House of Assembly elections. He promised the electorates 'a government that cares'.

Speaking earlier, Mr Eyo disclosed that the present government does not care. He said the people and the community have been forgotten about. He encouraged them to vote for Dr Eddie Hogan the House of Assembly candidate for Akpabuyo State Constituency.

His words, 'If you're not anybody that comes through Ben Ayade or Frank Ayade, you are nobody. And the rest of us here they forget about us.

'The problem is a very simple one. We don't have a government that cares for the people. How many of us today in 2019 are better than we were in 2015? Very few, nobody! How many of us in Cross River State today standing here are better than we were in 2007. Nobody!

'What we need is a government that cares for people, a government that knows what to do. A government that will not take your money —the little money that we have and go away.

'On 9th of March we will do an election. That election is for the Governorship or the House of Assembly. We have two candidates that are very important in this Akpabuyo. One is Eddie Hogan and a governorship candidate standing amongst you, a governorship candidate from amongst you.

'What we have seen is a that for the last four years nobody cares for this our land any more. When we had Governor's that cared for us. And when they were in office we knew what we were benefitted. In this Akpabuyo a factory was brought here, Lafarge and when they were building that factory we all had work and businesses to do. Since then other factories that should come, nothing.

'Instead we are hearing about garment factory, we are hearing about calapharm, rice mill, none of them are working, none of them are giving anybody any jobs. There's nothing to do. We are all here and they are throwing us good on the table. So, what do we do? We go and join militancy. How many of us wants to remain as militants? How many of us want to do the business of kidnapping? Nobody! We need simple, honest jobs that we can earn money with and sleep well at night. So the government that we want to bring to Cross River State is a government that will work for you, that will provide you with jobs, that will take your young people and and give them loans so that they can start their own business, and will provide employment for the rest of us.'
