CRUTECH: 9th CRSHA to change varsity's name

Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams during a visit of Crutech Alumni in his office yesterday the 23rd day of September 2019 stated that Cross River University Of Technology Bill will be the first to be passed by the 9th Assembly NEGROIDHAVEN has learnt.

The private Bill will be sponsored by the Leader of the House Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, if passed and assented to will provide Crutech to offer other courses like Medicine, Law, Pharmacy and others. The name will be called Cross River University.

According to Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah, the bill will be seeking to improve the existing structure, removing the clause of stopping the institution from offering other courses and provision of infrastructure, job opportunities, man power development as well as promotion of teaching and research.

He also stressed on the encroachment of Crutech Land in all the campuses and people are now building inside the school environment. He assured Crutech Alumni that a Bill to put an end to the encroachment of Crutech will be passed and oversight will accompany it, to ensure it is effective.

Speaking also at the office of the Speaker, Mr. Eyam Abeng the President of Crutech Alumni congratulated Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams for his victory at the poll and tribunal and pledged an unalloyed loyalty to the Speaker on behalf of all alumnus.

Eyah maintained that Crutech graduates are everywhere in the world and there's no ministry, paramilitary or military that an alumnus is not working and succeeding. He expressed confidence that if Crutech graduates are given opportunity as appointees by the state government they will perform excellently well and pleaded through the Speaker that Sen. Ben Ayade should carry Crutech graduates along this time around.

He went further to state the successes recorded by Crutech graduates and the challenges facing Crutech community, ranging from encroachment of Crutech land, insecurity and finances.
