Dr Grace Affiong Edet installed as National Patron of YOWICCN, charges Nigerian youth

Chief Dr. Grace Affiong Edet on Friday was acknowledged and installed by the Youth Wing of Christian Council of Nigeria YOWICCN as her 'national patron' NEGROIDHAVEN can say authoritatively.

The recipient of the prestigious Nigerian National Honours precisely the Officer of the Order of the Niger OON expressed delight at the installation which took place in Calabar, Cross River capital city. According to her: 'It makes me very happy, it makes me to know that my labour in the vineyard of God is not lost. That from time to time, God still remembers me'. 

The decoration ceremony was done at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Hope Waddell Training Institute parish, Calabar by the national president of YOWICCN Emmanuel Attai Ekpa Esq during the occasion of the Towards a Perfect Man-themed National Conference which held between 31st October and 2nd November 2019.

Addressing the youths shortly after the ceremony Dr Edet charged that Nigerian youths should follow after her footsteps: 'the youths know why they gave me this award so, they should walk in my footsteps. As I move on they should follow.'

Speaking to Christians in general, she said 'I pray that we will have the mind to serve God faithfully, steadfastly, we would have the mind to be humble, and to keep God's commandments. If you want to be a good Christian, you must definitely keep all the commandments as much as you can. I see that people take our God for granted.'

The Christian Council of Nigeria CCN comprises fifteen Christian denominations including The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, The Church of Nigeria, The Methodist Church of Nigeria, The Nigerian Baptist Convention, The Salvation Army, United Evangelical Church, The African Church, The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, The Church of the Lord Worldwide, The First African Church Mission, The Lutheran Church of Nigeria, The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Community of Christ Nigeria Mission Centre Inc, The African Episcopal Church of Nigeria, The Orthodox Diocese of Nigeria, and the United African Methodist Church Organisation.
